The College serves approximately 8,500 residential and commuter students and has 360 full-time faculty, approximately 400 adjunct faculty and 600 staff members. The annual budget is $201 million. Rhode Island College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and has also received accreditation for specific programs from the following agencies: Council on Social Work Education, National Association of Schools of Art and Design, National Association of Schools of Music, National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification, National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The Provost advises the President on policies and operations and serves as the chief executive in the absence of the President. The anticipated start date for this appointment is Summer/Fall 2020.
